Hostess Duties in a Strip Club

Working as a hostess abroad can be quite different from the typical understanding of this role in Slavic countries. The role of a hostess in a strip club involves creating a welcoming atmosphere and keeping guests entertained, helping them feel comfortable and enjoy their time, which often encourages increased spending.
Women in this role are typically expected to dance, as they not only entertain guests but also perform on stage, contributing to an engaging show. Pole dances include one topless performance, and as the track ends, there may be a quick striptease with full or partial undressing before a fast exit. Each evening typically includes 2 to 4 shows, along with private dances and time spent with guests, offering them both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks or champagne.
Why the Hostess Role Is Essential for a Strip Club
Hostesses in strip clubs play a vital role in the overall experience. They aren’t just dancers; they’re the ones who set the mood and make the night unforgettable for the guests. After performances, hostesses often join visitors, engage in light conversation, and gently encourage them to order more drinks, which increases club revenue. While each club has its own guidelines, the basic concept is the same: in every strip club, hostesses perform on stage, dance, and captivate the audience’s attention.
Main Duties of a Hostess in a Strip Club
Hostesses may perform topless routines or, less commonly, fully undress. Often, they perform in eye-catching, sensual outfits, with high heels as a staple part of their look. The level of undress depends on the specific club and country. Some strip clubs offer elaborate shows with well-choreographed numbers where hostesses appear in matching costumes for a grand “Entrée,” adding glamor and intrigue to high-end venues willing to invest in rehearsals and costumes. In regular strip bars, such complex performances are rare, but each hostess knows her responsibilities and strives to make her performance unique.
Essential Qualities and Skills of a Strip Club Hostess
A strip club hostess should meet the following requirements:
- Age: 19 years or older.
- Appearance: An attractive figure.
- Language Skills: Conversational English.
- Personality: Friendly, confident, and sociable.
- Experience: Not required; newcomers are supported with training and adaptation.
Work Schedule and Job Features
Working hours in clubs are typically from 10:30 PM to 5:00 AM, with some clubs closed on Sundays. Hostesses can take one day off per week. The base rate for a dancer is €50 per night. For drink sales, hostesses earn a 25% commission, with cocktail and champagne prices ranging from €30 to €600.
Hostesses earn 40% from private dances: two dances earn €40, four dances €60, and six dances €100. The base salary is paid daily, while commissions from drinks and private dances are paid bi-weekly due to processing times for credit card payments. If a hostess’s contract ends and she leaves, all outstanding earnings from drinks and dances are paid before departure.
